Types of Charging

There are three main classifications of EV charging:

Level 1: This is the slowest form of charging and plugs into a standard household outlet. It adds roughly two to four miles of range per hour, making it suitable for those who drive no more than 20 miles per day and can plug in every night.

Level 2: This type of charging requires a 240V outlet or hardwired equipment and may charge an EV from empty in about four to ten hours. Most EV owners install this version in their garage for overnight charging.

Level 3: (DC Fast Charging): These are the quickest chargers and can charge your EV from empty in as little as 20 minutes. However, they are typically only found in public charging stations due to their high energy requirements.
